At 950m on the West ridge of Cloudburst is an old HG site... Not sure what current service road access is like.

Whoa, I have this spot on my "Potential sites" Google Earth list! :D

Good to know that someone at least tried it before. The scenery there is awesome. Dear veterans, any info on this site?

EDIT: Mountainkite, did you try flying from there at all?

PS I guess missed an email notification about a previous post, didn't see the last few replies until now. Thanks for all the info!

No, only know of one PG pilot who's flown it which was probably long ago.
Yeah, looks like an awesome place to fly. I never had the right conditions to launch on the 3 different days I tried there.

Well... since I'm gonna try going there once the snow melts – what conditions do you need to fly there? Seems like inflows should be flyable? Or do you mean something other than wind direction?

In no wind it seemed too committal for a forward and when the air was active the cycles were cross. May try again some day. I'm interested to know what you find.

For the HG pilots there was a ramp below the slab but it's since gone to rot.

A newer cut block north of launch made it a 300m bushwhack.

Thanks Mountainkite!

Bathmonster, judging by the video the launch is somewhere here: http://goo.gl/maps/zvzby – I haven't been there so I don't know for sure.

I have a bunch of work and immigration stuff on my hands now, and don't have a full driving license yet (traded my Russian license for an L), so it'll be a few weeks before I can start driving around...

If you do go before that time, please let us know how it goes. I will also post to this forum once I go.
