Very cool route was flown by Scott Flavelle last Sunday launching from Rainbow launch in Whistler crossing over into the Squamish valley at Brandywine Mt. Then up the Elaho valley and across the Hundred Lake Plateau into the Meager Creek drainage. Finish with the Pemberton ‘Milk Run’ (…or not so Milk-Run as its a 100k out and return) from Spindrift back to Pemberton. Likely the first time many sections of this route were ever covered under a paraglider. Congrats!
There used to be a popular hiking route through the Stoltmann Wilderness across Hundred Lake Plateau, requiring 3 or more days of hiking (maybe 20% of the flying route). The 2010 debris flow near Mt Meager put an end to access at the north side. A wildfire in 2015 brought another set back to the area burning a big portion of the Elaho valley including the Elaho Giant, a 1000 year old Douglas fir.
